So to get the spirit back to myself, I decided to leisurely color a lineart that I made quite a while ago. This boy is my original character, Tate Ryuuta or Ryuuta-kun for short. For those who wonder about his name, he is indeed a son of Tate Yuuichi and Tokiha Mai (or I'd rather call his mother Tate Mai since usually, a wife adopts her husband's family name after marriage, right ?) in my own version. There is an artwork of them that I made before, this one
Since I color this leisurely, I don't want to think much about a background. The Lancer Evo IX here is my little brother's vector. I 'robbed' it from him (or rather to be more accurate, he gave it to me when I asked him). It is one of his earlier vector artworks, made a few years ago when he was still a newbie in vector designs, he is quite skilled for now already.
As usual, comments and critics are welcome, especially since I'd like to change the background with a better one.
Can't really say much about the car since I specialize in people but I'd say Tate and Mai's son looks pretty cool here. Hope his dad hasn't had to pull him over for speeding or bail him out of jail recently
Well... I don't expect people to give more attention to the car, either, since it's not my work.
Haha... yeah... maybe to prevent all that we should suggest Yuuichi-san to install a tracking device on Ryuuta-kun's Evo so he can make sure that Ryuuta-kun isn't speeding.
Thank you so much for your positive commentaries and faves, I totally appreciate them.
Well... yeah I was lazy since I didn't work much on the shadings and I didn't want to think of a suitable background for him, that's why I asked my little bro for his Evo IX vector.
By the time he turns 18, CT9A (Evo IX) can be considered as a classic / retro car already.
...and as time flies, Evo's fate will be decided. It's still not clear whether Mitsubishi's gonna turn Evo into diesel hybrid or kill them.
I don't mind if they turn Evo into diesel hybrid, there are lots of diesel sportscars nowadays anyway, and from what I heard, the diesel hybrid would even be more powerful than conventional petrol engines.
i don't like diesel sports cars, just because of the principal i guess... lol. i hope Evos keep going though, i just hope the start looking better than the X though :S
Ah yeah, diesels have their peak power at high RPM, around 7.000 or 8.000 RPM if I'm not mistaken. Maybe this kind of principles makes you lose interest in them?
But, hey diesels has advantages, too. It's torque-abundant, you know, you can feel the torque even from low RPM, and from what I heard, diesels still has lots of stuffs to be explored and developed. Who knows with their knowledge and experience with diesel, Mitsubishi actually can give us the sensation of petrol engines on diesels?
no it;s not necessarily that, it's just the thought of it... diesels are supposed to be high torque motors made for pulling big loads and what-not, not racing around tracks/doing high speed runs. i respect that people like them, and i do find it a bit funny/interesting, but i would never do it. i'll always stick to petrol sports cars
i have experienced first hand what it's like in a low powered, high torque diesel 4WD before, and it is impressive the amount they can tow (i towed my car to a drifting event last year) and that they just keep on going, but diesel sports cars aren't my thing. i hate seeing people who buy BMW 335 in diesel, i always just think it kind of defeats the purpose, but that's just me lol.
4WD diesel... that quite reminds me of that Hilux you drove in your mines...
Well... as I always say, people have their own preferences. For you, petrol engines are the best for racing and high speed runs, but I always want greener choice and I consider diesel is the thing for that. And anyway... I always want to see a drifting diesel, since most people say that with their current principle, it's hard for diesels to drift.
Now that I think of it, I guess I start to have a taste for speed off-road, too...
Great work though and be sure to keep it up

man time flies... i remember when evo IX's were new like it was yesterday! lol
