Custom Blue X-Trail by NotoAyako Custom Blue X-Trail by NotoAyako
If there's something called "shopping on impulse" then there should also be some other thing called "drawing on impulse" and somehoww there's something inside me that makes me go "SUV craze".

This is a custom Nissan X-Trail owned by an OC of mine, Hide (his name is pronounced Hee-deh and not Hay'd like in hiding. For futher details about this car, let's ask the owner, Hide-kun directly.

Aya-chan (A) : "Okay then, Hide-kun. You said that quite a bunch of things have been modified on this car but this car looks no different from stock except for the wheels. Can you explain us what have you done on this car of yours?"
Hide (H) : "Alright, first of all, this isn't my own car, this is my father's car and this is our project together. We do every changes on this car together so it's not a shop's work. What we've done onto this car is -the most notable one- changing the wheels as well as the braking system, engine swap with the bigger VQ35DEas well as installing 4WD drivetrain from higher trim X-Trail. You see... this is the lowest trim X-Trail as it gets no projector headlamps."
A : "Oh, so most of the modifications are in the performance sector then?"
H : "Pretty much, but there's also a modification we've done to the interior"
A : "What's that? Everything seems normal to me."
H : "I wouldn't say that if I were you. Don't you see that there are now 3rd row seats? We install those seats so we can carry at least 6 people on board. As for the lost cargo room, I guess we can trick it up later with a roof storage box."
A : "Wow, how convenient yet unique. Hey hide-kun, there's something that bugs me about the engine installment, don't you have difficulties pairing transversely mounted VQ35DE with 4WD drivetrain?"
H : " Well... adjustments were needed here and there and we've done them all but as long as I can recall all of them were minors."
A : "What a functional modification, every bit of modifications you guys have done has it's function."
H : "Yup, and next time we're gonna install custom turbo kits on this car. More power, more excitement."
A : "Oh... I'm really looking forward to interview you about it next time..."

...and that concludes my interview with Hide-kun. Please look forward for more interesting interviews... :iconbaibaiplz:

Last but not least, thanks a lot for my friend Taka-san a.k.a *fujihayabusa for the nice talk the other day. I put up something from our talk at some spot within this artwork.

Super coolest and super awesome Nissan X-Trail, Nissan X-Trail also available in Middle East market and sourced from Kanda, Fukuoka, Kyushu, Japan, I watched Kamen Rider Ryuki episode 25, the scene of Ren Akiyama as Kamen Rider Knight also drove Nissan X-Trail, excellent job. :D B-) :winner:

It's a bit different in here, though. X-trail's are assembled locally in Nissan's Plant here not too far from the capital city and roughly 60% of the parts are locally-sourced. :iconkonatagiggleplz:

Yea, it is a cool SUV, too bad the current model doesn't have 4WD as an option. :iconhandpalmkonataplz:

I agree with you the Nissan X-Trail is a cool SUV, I've seen several Nissan X-Trails coming from Mexico and couple from Canada. :D B-) :winner:

Btw, if I'm not mistaken. In US you have a Nissan SUV with bigger engine, like V8, despite of having almost the similiar dimension to X-Trail, right? What was it called anyway, X-Terra or something? I heard it's only available in LHD. :iconconfusedneplz:

You are correct, It's Nissan X-Terra, It's sold in North America, Middle East, Latin America, and China as Nissan Paladin, Nissan X-Trail was sold in Canada from 2005 to 2006 alongside the Xterra, and you're right, Nissan X-Terra is only available only in left hand drive. :D

That's why I found it so unfortunate that they're only available in LHD. I imagine that it would sell here, if only it has smaller engine like inline-4 or V6, considering that it's a 7-seater. You have to know that most car consumers in Indonesia prefer 7-seater MPV's and SUV's than sedans or 5-seater SUV's. :iconiceuplz:

I know there is actually an alternative, Nissan Patrol, but it's so big and might be unsuitable for crowded city streets. :iconyuicry2plz:

I agree.

I really love Nissan Patrol, Nissan Patrol is my favorite Japanese SUV and it's very popular in Middle East, South Africa, and Australia and New Zealand despite being built in Japan, they use it to drive on the deserts, jungle, and mountain.

The all-new 2010 Nissan Patrol was launched on 13 February with the slogan 'Hero of All Terrain', at a VIP event in Abu Dhabi, UAE, A luxury version is sold as the Infiniti QX56.

The Nissan Patrol is offered in four different levels of trim in the Middle East: XE, SE, LE, and City Package. In Australia, they offered the ST-L, Ti, and Ti-L trim. :D

Makes sense why they're driven in deserts, jungle and mountain, they have high ground clearance and pretty much stiff suspensions which make them durable for such terrains. :icontsumuginomplz:

Talking about Nissan patrol in Aussie, it appears that Aussie is the only RHD market where Patrol is sold. Well... Now I can only wish that they have a smaller version of this SUV but with 7-seater configuration, like the next gen X-Trail, perhaps...? :iconkawaiimugiplz:
